Autumn Equinox 2020 Seasonal Women's Circle

As we come together in Circle for the Autumn Equinox, we celebrate the 2nd of 3 harvest festivals.  Autumn Equinox is also known as Harvest Home, Mabon or the Festival of Thanksgiving.

Once again, the light and dark are balanced in equal length, as we pause before the time of descent into later fall and winter, and Winter Solstice.  Autumn Equinox is a time of rest after labor, a time of rebalancing after intensive work.  In earlier times this season was known as the Reaping Tide, balancing the Spring Equinox Sowing Tide.

Fall Equinox is a time of inward turning and celebration.   In the mythic cycle of the Goddess, the Mother Goddess is completing her activity of creation.   This is the time to receive and acknowledge our personal harvests.  We give thanks and blessing to the Mother and the earth for the abundance with which we have been nurtured and blessed, and prepare ourselves for the season of winter ahead.

We are circling on the actual date of the Autumn Equinox this year, when we cross the threshold into fall at 9:31 AM EDT. Join us as we receive and give thanks in Circle, in the ancient way of the Goddess.

This Seasonal Circle will be held in The Sophia Women’s Circle on Facebook. If this is your first circle to attend with us, reserve your spot at this link:
